Full Moon Rising

One of the most challenging but beautiful things to paint for me is the monochrome and tonal values of the light of the night. When I combine the full moon rising over water, true magic takes place! I love how the light dances on the waves ... it pulls you into the scene almost in a trance staring at its beauty.

I've painted many moonscapes over the years but feel “Full Moon Rising” is one of the best I've done!! It has this magical quality that as the room light changes it changes just like a full moon travelling through the night sky. And it has a fanciful glow to it!
